I have been a member at St. Ambrose Parish since April of 2014 when at Father Jim requested a deacon and the Bishop assigned me here. My previous assignment was at St Philip Parish in Battle Creek since I was ordained on September 7, 2002. I am also assigned to the Marriage Tribunal of the Diocese of Kalamazoo. I received my Licentiate in Canon Law from the Catholic University of America on October 31, 2009. My duties with the tribunal have been varied, but I currently serve as an Auditor, instructing marriage cases for the Judicial Vicar. Additionally, I have presented a number of classes for the deacon formation, mainly in Canon Law.
At St. Ambrose my primary ministry is to the homebound and coordinating Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. I also assist as needed in other ministries, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Religious Education. In liturgy I assist at one Mass each weekend and once a month I preach the Homily at all the Masses that weekend. I am available for Baptisms, Funerals and Weddings as requested by the Pastor. My wife, Rosemary and I have seven grown children and twelve grandchildren. We find St. Ambrose to be very friendly and welcoming and we are enjoying being parishioners here.
