St. Ambrose is a very special place—a place where people gather together to praise our God in liturgical settings and live the Word in our social gatherings. In our music ministry, we assume our supportive role of leading the congregational singing so that, together, we may lift our voices as one Body in Christ.
At St. Ambrose, we are continuously expanding our musical repertoire and strive to incorporate music representing the many forms and styles that have spanned over many generations of church music. As our Pastor, Father Jim O’Leary, stated, we are a Vatican II parish and, as such, we hold a special fondness for contemporary church music—the songs whose lyrics and melodies linger in our hearts and souls as we worship and as we live our busy lives, always reminding us of God’s unfailing love.
We invite you to join us in “making a joyful noise unto the Lord” by your enthusiastic participation in the congregation and/or the choir. We always welcome new music ministers (singers and/or instrumentalists) who are willing to serve at any of our regular weekend Masses (5:00 pm, Saturday; 9:00 am and/or 11:15 am, Sunday,) our Resurrection Choir (providing music for funerals,) as well as many special liturgies throughout the year. Thursday evening, 7:00-9:00 pm, is our regular practice time (with flexibility, depending on individual schedules and/or needs.)
Please feel free to contact me in the music area after any weekend liturgy.
